Breakfast at High Meadows Vineyard Inn
Each day is different at High Meadows Vineyard Inn, but every breakfast we serve is truly exceptional!
Some of our first course offerings include Baked Cinnamon Peaches with homemade greek yogurt and Hudson Henry granola (we’ll tell you about them when you are here!), Raspberry Cornbread, Blueberry-Lemon Muffins, Gingerbread, Steamed Pumpkin-Ginger Pudding, Broiled Grapefruit, Green Mango Crisp. . . we change with the seasons, and always cook with the freshest produce at the market.
Second courses alternate between sweet and savory mornings. . . our famous Eggs Benedict (even the English muffins are locally made!), Belgian Waffles, Garden Vegetable Frittata, Goat-cheese and Ricotta Crepes, Quiches, Herbed Eggs & Smoked Salmon. It’s always delicious, and often something you haven’t had before, or in a very long time! (Who gets up and cooks like this for themselves, right?)
There is always plenty of freshly-ground coffee, a wide assortment of teas & tisanes and freshly squeezed juice. It’s worth waking up for.
A note about our local farms:
When our chickens can’t lay enough, our eggs come from an organic farm just 3 miles away, Iona Farm. Goat cheese (of all sorts) is from our friends at Caromont Farm, herbs and veggies are from our own gardens, and from various local small producers almost always, we source pork from a local small producer and from the Organic Butcher, and even much of our bread is made locally – Albemarle Baking Company is one of our faves.
If you like something, ask – we are happy to share our sources, and the small farmers are always glad for the compliments and for your business. Farmers markets from late April through October are plentiful in Central Virginia – and not just on Saturdays.
Please be sure to let us know of any allergies when you make your reservation! We include a ‘special needs’ section on the online reservation form for just this. We are happy to accommodate vegetarian, vegan preferences and gluten-free needs!
